Join Living History – Join the Museum Volunteers

The Museum has several groups of volunteers that form an important part of the activities of the Museum. One can participate in the activities according to personal interest and resources. New Volunteers are welcome in all groups! To join, please contact our Museum Educator Frida Westermarck +358 45 315 8570, frida.westermarck@fiskarsmuseum.fi.

As benefits, museum volunteers are granted free admission to the Museum throughout the year, and they have the option to participate in museum study tours and excursions. Volunteers also receive a 10 % discount on all items sold in the museum shop and a 20% discount on space rentals. Furthermore, volunteers typically receive an information letter a couple of times per year.

Volunteer Groups

Friends of Pikku-Pässi

A group for experts from different fields, who wants to support the Museum in maintaining Fiskars narrow-gauge steam locomotive Pikku-Pässi and develop activities connected to the train. Read more about Save Pikku-Pässi-project here! The group meets occationally.

Youth of the 1950s

This group is made up of people who all lived their childhood or youth in Raasepori in the 1950s. The group meets once a month to share memories over a cup of coffee and support the museum in collection and ehhibitions work.

Traditional Craftsmen

This group is for them who wants to learn or to teach a variety of traditional crafts. In the summer season 2023 we arrange displays in traditional haymaking and fence building.

Re-enactors

Re-enactors dressed up as historical characters of the Ironworks perform small daily shores or play music in the exhibitions and events arranged by the Museum.

The Garden Group

A group for you who are interested in gardening. We develop and take care of the Museum garden together with the museum staff. The group meets mainly in the spring and autumn.
